  2. Just want to say : thank you for this masterpiece of software!
  3. Pentax K-70 added to a K-1 is still not supported:\
  4. Thanks! I recently processed hundreds of my vacation photos on my 5k imac with 2.0.6. A few glitches here and there but no showstoppers and I'm very happy with Darktable at this point.

Some constructive criticism (mostly I would expect known issues but you never know):

The biggest problem I have at this point is simple ux: a lot of the ui elements are tiny and hard to grab with a mouse. I've seen people struggle with this in various youtube tutorials. E.g. most sliders are painful and especially on parametric masks this is very fiddly. Also, I think this UI would be downright painful with a touch screen in its current form for the same reason.

I know there is an open issue for undo. I've on multiple occasions lost changes by messing with the history. One wrong move there and your changes are gone. There is no undo.

Creating new instances of filters is a nice feature but it would be nicer still if we could rename them. I'm sure this is somewhere in the issue tracker already. The way the filters reorder or duplicate themselves when you edit or create new instances is a bit confusing. I've had issues with the filter view switching to the wrong column when creating new instances of filters. This is somewhat confusing as well but after it happened a couple of times I knew where too look.

I've had issues with crop & resize where my attempts to grab one of the edges becomes a "move the rectangle" or doesn't work at all. The latter goes away if I switch the image to full screen with the tab button. I think this is another case of too small click targets. Also it's sometimes hard to get it back to the edit mode when you've confirmed the change. I work around this by right clicking the angle slider, which seems to do the trick.
  5. The support for K-1 was added in 2.0.6; Complaining here is pointless, if there is no bug report, there is no bug.
  6. Sergey Dovganyuk on Wed Oct 26 07:22:21 2016:
Could you please add all Denoise NLM module parameters to Denoise Profiled (NLM method) module.
  7. Thanks a lot for this new version. Could you please add Canon 5D Mark IV support in future release.
  8. I have already added it to git master yesterday: https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/commit/4c61a0b8725f34eb73d7d88828f4c1712e661ab9
Once someone provides one raw sample per every ISO+subIso (i.e. in 1/3 step, do enable extended iso) with mRaw+sRaw, i will add support for that too.
  9. This is where the WB preset to k-1?
  10. Hi, first of all, thanks to the developers, I love darktable.

    +1 especially for:

"a lot of the ui elements are tiny and hard to grab with a mouse".

A wacom tablet has solved this problem for me, as an addition to the mouse. Once you get used to the stylus, it makes really fun and keeps you relaxed.

Help me! I want return version darktable 2.0.5

    “AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G DX ED.

failed to read camera white balance information from DSC_1111.NEF

Please write me only : sudo .....
  13. On Antergos (Arch Linux) darktable 2.0.7 doesn't have the map panel, only lighttable, darkroom, tethering, slideshow and print. I don't know why. This is a screenshot (darktable 2.0.7 - italian) in picture info you can read the gps information.

  14. That is clearly a packaging problem. Report that into Antergos/Arch Linux bug tracker.
  15. Thanks, You are right the terminal says "[view_load_module] could not open /usr/lib/darktable/views/libmap.so (libosmgpsmap-1.0.so.1: impossibile aprire il file oggetto condiviso: File o directory non esistente)!
[view_manager_init] failed to load view module 'map'

  19. Antonio Corbetta on Thu Oct 27 08:24:25 2016:
    Hello

the new version 2.0.7 does not read RAW files of my Nikon 8800 (NEF), too bad! Will there convert to DNG format?
  20. Tue Romanow on Thu Oct 27 12:06:43 2016:
    No 2.0.7 for OSX users?
  21. Thanks for the new release! :)

    Are MacOS DMGs expected too?
  22. Thanks for all the work you put into this software. I've moved from the Windows world to Linux, replacing Lightroom in my digital photography work with Darktable, and it is the absolute bomb. I shoot with a K50 and I find it works perfect, if anything there are more adjustments in your software than in Adobe's. Exports look flawless, and your watermarking tool is genius. Still can't believe this is free software. When I've got some money saved up, you guys are getting a donation.
  23. It's necessary to install the osm-gps-map package that is in the optonal dependencies and the map panel is ok.
  24. Aleksandr on Fri Oct 28 06:50:39 2016:
    Return Darktable 2.0.5.
    Step by Step:

    2)Install Ubuntu
3)Install Synaptic sudo apt-get install synaptic
    4)Search in Synaptic darktable.
    5)Install Darktable 2.0.5
    6)The End
  25. Thx, but there´s no .dmg-file to download.
    Where? Why? What?

  26. +1

"The biggest problem I have at this point is simple ux: a lot of the ui elements are tiny and hard to grab with a mouse"
  27. Roman, I'm working on those files for you! I should have a sample photo of each ISO in the next few days.
  28. Nice Halloween-Icon ;-)

Thanks for a great piece of Software!!!
  29. Heh! Thx for the Halloween icon!

Always pleased with this great piece of software and all your hard work...

    Happy Halloween!
  30. Patiently waiting for the Mac OS X build. Thanks for everything so far!
  31. alex hurt on Mon Oct 31 18:35:15 2016:
    ma:(
  32. KarmaPolice on Mon Oct 31 19:48:37 2016:
@Aleksandr - this is wrong advice and it is very unethical to send newbies into wro ng direction - you should feel ashamed.

It is absolutely not possible to uninstall and reinstall Ubuntu.

maybe that was not a bad joke but you really do not know better, then however it is always better to not advice if you do not really know.
  33. I get this error when running 2.0.7 on Gnome 3.22:
(darktable:22998): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme parsing error: darktable.css:15:14: Using Pango syntax for the font: style property is deprecated; please use CSS syntax
    dt_gui_gtk_init: error parsing /usr/share/darktable/darktable.css: darktable.css:15:8not a number

Had to edit /usr/share/darktable/darktable.css and make these changes:
Line 15 changed to "font-family: Sans;"
    added a new line "font-size: 8px;"

Now runs and GUI looks as it should
  34. Mac DMG has arrived.
  35. Roger Smith on Wed Nov 02 17:49:27 2016:
Hi guys, thanks for your continuing hard work and for such a great piece of software.
Latest release 2.0.7 working great on OSX and Linux Mint with Nikon D7200 (14 bit raw) and D3300.
  36. alex hurt on Wed Nov 02 18:53:10 2016:
    THAKNS!!!!!!!! ma:)
  37. newbiepro on Wed Nov 02 22:28:01 2016:
    Add Nikon D500 support please
  38. Wow, just wow. I was coming from LightZone (great piece of software, don't get me wrong) - but DarkTable is something else entirely. This is so quick, beautiful and FOSS! I love that things are locally stored (instead of lightroom and their database crud). I am so excited to edit photos with this tool :)
  39. Harvey Steeves on Thu Nov 03 15:17:03 2016:
what do you need for samples from cameras?
  40. The purpose of this comment is to support the development of the software in case I'm not the only one to have the (minor) issues listed below.

I really love to use DT and I'm very grateful to the team of DT to maintain this software.

I have surprisingly lost some functionnality since 2.0.0:

For instance, in any version from 2.0.1 to 2.0.6, I couldn't create multiple instance anymore.
2.0.7 works again in this regard.

What I still can't do with 2.0.1 to 2.0.7 is to enter a number with keyboard after a right click to change the value of exposition (for example).
I have realized that on 2.0.7, I have display issues as well (writing is kind on foggy in modules).

For these reasons, I'm still using 2.0.0 which works well with my camera.
  41. Great piece of software. After using it for over a year (tried different software before), it's my must-have app for photography.

Didn't find any donate link or button though.
  42. Are you using OSX by any chance?
  43. If that is a self compiled version of darktable you should make sure to clean your build/ directory and re-compile+install. The error you see is due to a change in GTK theming. While we ship themes for different GTK versions the one to be installed is determined when running cmake, so subsequent updates of GTK will result in the wrong theme being used.
  44. I agree, the GUI is hard to use with a touchscreen. And the parametric blending sliders are hard to use, too. However, our regular sliders are totally fine IMO. After all, you don't have to click the small triangle to interact with them. Just click anywhere on the slider and drag the mouse around. Actually, the triangle isn't handled different than the rest of the slider in any way or form. It is just a visual indication of the current value.

Can you help me please? I have a CANON 400D camera, I has make it 400++ and added ISO 2800 can you add reduce noise with this ISO?

    Thanks and regards
  46. Hi there

Do you still need sample photos from Nikon D3X in 12bit-compressed and uncompressed format?
If so, send me an email and I'll supply you with what ever you need.

    p.
  47. It seem so, those modes are still not supported.
  48. I just tried opening this version for Mac. For some reason the font is so large it wont allow darktable to fit on my screen. Are there any quick fixes for this? i'm not very versed in writing code to fix it.
  49. Are icons huge, too? If that is the case you probably need to set some sensible values for screen_dpi_overwrite and screen_ppd_overwrite in ~/.config/darktable/darktablerc. The default "-1" means that those should be auto-detected which seems to fails every now and then on Macs. Especially when there is more than one monitor and only one is high DPI.
